I am changing my images. Anatomy pictures. Don't have any yet, but I'll post them as I get them.
I want to keep it visually simple, I think that to have a successful thing on the internet one must recognize that people do not have the attention span needed to negotiate a complex or confusing web application.
Like I said, simple.
The idea I have is that the cells in the grid will activate sounds and then (maybe) become inactive and the sound will relocate to another cell.
For the sound I have some clips from an interview of sorts with my Grandmother. I'm going to cut these up into tiny bits that you will be able to piece together into full words and phrases.

is that the image you're going to go with? i really like it, simple + graphic.
The voice I'm hearing is very sophisticated and enticing. I can see this working with any graphic, as it is so commanding and clear. I agree with you - attention spans on the web are short, and extremely simplified concepts are often most elegant. Not always though. Do you have a story you want to tell? Do you want to go to the cinema? Lovely graphic this way, and other drawings I suspect would be nice too. My main advice - keep it as simple as possible, perhaps even one sound.
